1. About These Terms

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Sai Yai website and your engagement with Sai Yai Legal Services Co., Ltd. ("Sai Yai", "we", "us"). By visiting our website or enquiring about our services, you confirm that you have read and understood these Terms.

We have written them in plain language because we believe transparency is part of good practice. If anything here is unclear, we welcome your questions — please contact us at [email protected].

2. Our Services

Sai Yai provides family law services in Thailand, including but not limited to:

The scope of any engagement is agreed upon in writing prior to commencement of substantive work. Information shared during a general enquiry or an initial consultation does not, on its own, create a formal client relationship unless confirmed in a written engagement letter.

3. Engagement and Fees

Service fees are as agreed at the time of engagement and confirmed in your engagement letter. Fees are stated in Thai Baht (฿) and are inclusive of applicable VAT unless otherwise specified.

We aim to give you a clear picture of likely costs before work begins and will let you know as early as possible if we anticipate the scope changing. We do not proceed with significant additional work without your agreement.

4. Client Responsibilities

To allow us to help you effectively, we ask that you:

We understand that family matters can be emotionally demanding, and we do not expect perfection. However, our ability to serve you well depends on clear and honest communication between us.

5. Confidentiality

All information you share with us in the course of an engagement is treated as strictly confidential. We do not discuss or disclose client information outside our practice except:

Our full approach to personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

6. Professional Standards

Sai Yai's legal professionals are bound by the professional and ethical standards set by the Lawyers Council of Thailand. We act in your best interests within the bounds of the law and our professional obligations. Where there is a conflict between your instructions and our professional duties, we will discuss this with you openly.

We are not able to offer legal advice outside the scope of Thai law. For matters with cross-border elements, we will advise you on what is within our competence and, where appropriate, refer you to suitably qualified practitioners in other jurisdictions.

7. Limitation of Liability

We take our responsibilities seriously and strive to deliver careful, considered work. However, legal outcomes are not entirely within our control, and we cannot accept liability for outcomes that depend on third parties, judicial decisions, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Our total liability to you in connection with any single matter, howsoever arising, is limited to the fees paid by you to us in respect of that matter, except where liability cannot be excluded by law (for example, in cases of fraud or wilful misconduct).

We are not liable for any loss or expense arising from your reliance on information provided through our website, which is offered for general guidance only and does not constitute legal advice specific to your situation.

8. Website Use

Our website is provided in good faith for informational purposes. We make reasonable efforts to keep content accurate and up to date, but we do not warrant that all content is free from error or reflects the most current legal position. Nothing on this website constitutes legal advice.

9. Ending an Engagement

You are free to end your engagement with us at any time by notifying us in writing. Fees for work completed up to the date of termination remain payable.

We may withdraw from an engagement if continuing to act would conflict with our professional obligations, if there is a breakdown in the working relationship, or if fees remain unpaid for an extended period despite reasonable efforts to resolve the situation. In such cases, we will give you as much notice as practicable and will not leave you without the opportunity to arrange alternative representation where time-sensitive matters are involved.

10. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. Any dispute arising in connection with our services or these Terms shall first be subject to a good-faith discussion between us. Where a dispute cannot be resolved in this way, it shall be referred to the courts of Bangkok, Thailand, which shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Ongoing client engagements are governed by the Terms in force at the time the engagement letter was signed, unless both parties agree otherwise in writing.

12. Contact Us

If you have questions about these Terms or how we work, please reach out — we are always happy to explain.
